Signature on Virtual Signing Panel

You create your signature on the screen using your mouse, touchpad, or finger, and Signingo authenticates it with its own electronic seal and timestamp. According to the European Union’s eIDAS regulation, this qualifies as a simple electronic signature.

You can sign the contract on a virtual signature panel, and the signature image will be added to the PDF document. DÁP mobilalkalmazás

In 2024, the Digital Citizenship Program (DÁP) was launched, making the DÁP mobile application available to everyone. Using this application, we can also sign electronic documents within the Signingo system.

In September 2024, the Hungarian government launched the DÁP, or the Digital Citizenship Program, aimed at facilitating official procedures. This includes the DÁP mobile application, which can be installed on any iOS or Android device and allows electronic document signing. Contracts signed this way are considered legally binding.

ProsAvailable to all Hungarian digital citizens, the signing process takes no more than 1 minute and can be used for almost any type of contract. It is accepted by every country within the EU and can be combined with other signing options.

Own Electronic Signature

If you have previously purchased your own electronic signature, you can also use it within the Signingo system.

If you have your own electronic signature, you can use that as well. Signingo allows the use of electronic signatures from any trusted service provider. The signing takes place on your own device, and then you upload the signed document back into the system. This means it’s not an issue if you and your contracting partner use electronic signatures from different providers. The contract signed in this way is considered written as long as both parties have the appropriate type of electronic signature.

What is Signingo and what is it used for?
Signingo is an online platform where users can create contracts, invite their contracting partners, and sign contracts together.
Is a digitally signed contract equivalent to a paper-based contract?
Since 2016, digital signatures have full legal acceptance within the European Union. This means that a document cannot be refused simply because it was signed digitally.
How does electronic signature work?
Electronic signatures allow you to digitally authenticate documents, such as PDF files or container files (e.g., ASiC format). Authenticated documents include the signer's details and ensure that the document's content has not changed. A timestamp must also be added to the signatures to guarantee that the document existed at the given time and has not changed since.
How can I use a contract signed in Signingo as evidence in a legal dispute?
When a contract is finalized, Signingo sends the contract to the contracting parties via email and makes it available to them on the website. This is a PDF (.pdf) or ASiC (.asice) file that contains the contract and the signatures. This file must be preserved and can be used as evidence in legal proceedings. It is important to keep the file in digital format because, for example, if it is printed, it will no longer contain the data used to verify authenticity.
How can I sign contracts in the Signingo system?
You can choose from multiple methods: signing on a virtual signing panel, signing with the DÁP mobile application, or using your own electronic signature. When signing on the virtual signing panel, you sign the contract on a touch screen or with a mouse, and the signature image is affixed to the document, which is then digitally signed and timestamped by the Signingo system. When using the DÁP mobile application or your own electronic signature, you need to download the file containing the contract from the system, sign it, and then upload it back to the system. Signingo checks whether the correct document was signed and whether the appropriate signature was affixed.
Which type of signature creates a written contract, and which does not?
Contracts signed on the virtual panel are considered non-written, while contracts authenticated with the DÁP mobile application or signed with a personal electronic signature (in the case of a qualified signature or an advanced signature based on a qualified certificate) are considered written.
What is the difference between written and non-written contracts?
From a legal perspective, not all contracts are considered written contracts simply because they appear as text. Hungarian law provides several regulations on when a contract can be considered legally written. There are certain contracts (and even some specific contractual provisions) where a written form is legally required, and without it, the contract (or part of it) may be invalid. The difference between written and non-written contracts primarily concerns formal requirements and the ability to prove the contract. Written contracts are easier to prove in court. Non-written contracts are more challenging to prove and may require additional evidence, such as correspondence, messages exchanged through the Signingo system, or activity logs. It's important to note that a non-written contract can still be valid, but proving it may require more steps.
When should you create a written contract, and when is a non-written contract sufficient?
This may depend on the content of the contract and personal preference. Some types of contracts are only valid if legally put in writing (e.g., partnership agreements, lease agreements), and there are certain contract clauses (e.g., penalties) that must be stipulated in writing, even if the contract type itself does not require a legally written form. If the contract does not fall into either category, a non-written contract may suffice. In other cases, or if you prefer greater security, it is advisable to sign the contract using the DÁP mobile application, or a suitable personal electronic signature, as these methods result in a legally written contract.
How can I create a written contract in Signingo?
When creating a contract, choose the “DÁP or own digital signature” signing method. In this case, the system only allows signing with the DÁP mobile application and your own electronic signature for all contracting parties. Each party can individually choose between the two signing methods. The signing process is very simple, consisting of a few steps and taking no more than 1 minute. With the DÁP mobile application, you sign the contract through the application. With your own electronic signature, you sign the document containing the contract on your own computer. In both cases you upload the signed file back to Signingo, and the system checks if the correct document has been signed and uploaded. Signingo guides you through the steps, making it difficult to make a mistake.
Do I need my own digital signature to create a written contract?
No. With the DÁP mobile application, every Hungarian citizen can sign contracts digitally without any hardware or special administration/application required. Signingo has this signing option integrated.
Can I create a declaration?
Yes. If you only add one signer to a contract, you can create a declaration.
Can more than two contracting parties sign a contract?
Yes. You can add as many signers to a contract as you like. The contract will be finalized when all parties have signed it.
What subscription packages are available in the Signingo system?
Signingo offers four subscription packages with different features and prices. Subscription fees are periodic (monthly/yearly) and per contract. Payment is made via credit card through Stripe.
How can I subscribe?
If the free package is not enough for you and you want to subscribe, you can do so within the system using a credit card. Payment is made through Stripe. Signingo does not store or have access to your credit card details.
When do I have to pay the per-contract fee?
In the case of the free package, you will be redirected to a payment page when the contract is finalized, where, after paying the fee, the contract will be automatically finalized. If you are not using a free package, we count the finalized contracts and bill them in bulk when a larger number has accumulated.
Can I try contract finalization for free?
Yes. We provide 2 free contract finalizations for every new registrant.
What is the process for signing contracts?
The steps for finalizing a contract are: inviting signers, finalizing the content of the contract, signing by the contracting parties, and finally finalizing the contract.
How can I manage my profiles and contracting partners in the system?
Users can register multiple profiles that contain different contracting details. This can be useful if you have multiple companies or want to contract as both an entrepreneur and a private individual. A signature sample can be pre-registered for the profile, and co-users can be invited to manage the contracts associated with the profile.
